We’re opening for The Dandies‘ Star Trek-inspired improv show, Holodeck Follies! Laura has never watched any form of Star Trek, so we’re just doing regular sketches. Though we may be trying out some new space-themed nerdy material that we have yet to put on stage!

Wednesday, April 24th, 9:30pm at The Black Swan. $7 at the door, $5 in advance via this link: http://holodeck.bpt.me/

With The Weaker Vessels and Jason Cleveland!

On Saturday, March 2, 2013, we will be participating in the SiriusXM Sketch Off, presented by the Toronto SketchFest, where 12 of Toronto’s funniest sketch troupes compete for their chance to win a comedy album produced by SiriusXM and distributed by Comedy Records.  Come and listen to these troupes as they bring their funniest audio sketches to your ears in the 8pm show!

British Teeth
Templeton Philharmonic
Vest of Friends
Tony Ho
Ladystache
Jape
Parker and Seville
Local Drysdales
Two Weird Ladies
Primo
Elephant Empire
Smells like the 80’s

Four of these troupes will be chosen by audience vote (THAT MEANS YOU!) and judges pick to perform in the 10pm show, where they will perform two more sketches, one of which will have been written THAT DAY based on a theme sent out at 9am.

The final four will have their sketches uploaded to a voting site that goes live on March 11th, 2013. After that, you have 10 days to vote — one vote per day — for your favourite troupe!  And by favourite troupe, we mean Two Weird Ladies!  More info on the show can be found here.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a whore-faced bride, a Grade 12 science nerd or the guy who got banged in the bathroom at prom, Two Weird Ladies will be auctioning off opportunities to have your name used as a character name in our sketch comedy revue, Two Weird Ladies Bomb The Fringe!

We’ll be auctioning off a bunch of character names, thanks in our program, references to high schools and home towns, and perhaps even a CAMEO in our show! All bids will start at just $2. Win the bidding war and you could be an indirect part of up to 14 performances of our Fringe show in both Toronto and Hamilton this July! You may become famous. Or at very least the laughing stock of all your friends.

We’re selling our artistic integrity so cheap that we had to fill the night with credible talents. Your $5 will grant access to not only our exciting auction, but also performances by the following wonders:

Improv by 2-Man No-Show! (Critics’ & Patrons’ Pick, Toronto Fringe Festival 2010 & 2009)
Sketch by British Teeth! (Winner, 2011 Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award)
Standup by Joel Buxton! (The Sketchersons)
Hip Hop by Wordburglar! (Canadian Music Week Indie Award nominee)
Character comedy by Danz Altvater! (Co-producer, Laugh Through This: All Girl Comedy Show).

The evening will be hosted by Two Weird Ladies (Mandy Sellers & Laura Salvas) and Professional Director Kirsten Gallagher. All monies will go towards the shockingly high costs of producing a Fringe show, driving to and from Hamilton a bunch of times, advertising materials, paying our wonderful Stage Managers, props, press photos and our funerals.

Thanks to Comedy Bar for sponsoring this event.

  1. I saw the act at Hamilton Fringe and I just loved it. The face slapping had me in tears.
My roommate is currently studying at Mac doing her PHd in sociology studying women in comedy. I would like to get her tickets for her birthday to see your rumoured show on September 7th but, can’t find any information online. Please advise.
    Thanks

    • Hi there! We believe we’ll be doing a show at the Comedy Bar in Toronto on September 7th, opening for improv juggernaut MANTOWN, but it has yet to be confirmed. Once it is confirmed we will definitely post all of the info on our website, at which point you can preorder tickets at comedybar.ca or buy them at the door. Thank you for your support!

    • Hi! Yes, it has now been confirmed that we will be opening for Mantown at Comedy Bar on September 7th. The show starts at 10:30pm but tickets are not yet available on the Comedy Bar website. This show is known to sell out so we will try to keep on top of the tickets-on-sale situation so we can post a link here.

And thank you so much for coming to our show! The face slapping also had me in tears, but that was just because Mandy hurt my face.
